Some cards (e.g. chipknip or public transport cards) have information about their balance stored in their internal memory.
In order to check this electronic cash balance, users are bound to go outside and look for a public card readers in the nearby area. When the card reader is found, the cash balance can be obtained from the card.
This is highly inconvenient, because users can only check their chip’s cash balance with the use of publicly available readers and only in specified public areas where those readers are present.
Intellicard solves this problem by integrating the electronic cash reader into the card itself. This allows users to check their balance on-the-go, wherever they are and whenever they want.
